The search for affordable and energy efficient buildings is growing larger with every passing year. A solution in which for $5,000 you get a small single-story house is now available. The price is so low because there is no manual labor involved and recycled or inexpensive materials are used. In fact, the secret lies in using 3D Printers. In China, the owner of the company WinSun, designer Ma Yihe, managed to make 10 full-sized, detached single-story houses in just ONE day. Even though the 3D printers aren’t sophisticated enough to build roofs, the builders used four 10 by 6.6 meters printers in order to build the walls. Spraying a mixture of cement and construction waste, they raised the walls, layer by layer. Check out the end product in the photos to see how such houses can be made without much effort and money.

A Chinese company used giant 3D printers to make 10 full-sized, detached single-story houses in one day! According to the news source, the 3D printers aren’t yet versatile enough to manage the task of applying roofs, so that aspect must be carried out be a team of workers.
This technology allows for the printed material to dry rapidly. Ma has been cautious not to reveal the secrets of this technology.
Ma, who has been designing 3D printers for 12 years, said the new technology is cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
“To obtain natural stone, we have to employ miners, dig up blocks of stone and saw them into pieces. This badly damages the environment,” Ma said.
“But with the 3D printing, we recycle mine tailings into usable materials. And we can print building with any digital design our customers bring us. It’s fast and cheap,” he said.
