First, we will discuss with you the specifics of your property to see which roofing system best fits your needs. Depending on your vision, budget, and the local climate, we may advise you to go for asphalt shingles, metal roofing, slate tiles, or a flat roof system.
Now that we have the preliminaries covered, it’s time to get our hands dirty. We will first ensure that you have a solid structural deck in place as the foundation for your new roof.
A compromised deck or supports may cause leaks in the future. Therefore, we will inspect the surface for wobbly joints and connections, loose nailing, rotting, corrosion, and other signs of damage.
After making sure that everything is as it should be, we will place an ice and water shield around the entire perimeter of the roof. We will also install a fresh felt underlayment.
Next comes the metalwork. We will install a metal drip edge around the perimeter edges and line all headwalls, walls, and valleys with metal as well. To ensure maximum waterproofing, we will also line all crickets and dead valleys with a rubber membrane.
Then, before applying the shingles, we will draw chalk lines over the surface to ensure we keep a straight course. Finally, once the shingles have been installed, we will clean everything up and carefully inspect our completed re roof (overlay) job to ensure that nothing is amiss.
